Skin Checks

Skin cancers are the commonest cancers in Australia, with 2 out of 3 Australians developing a skin cancer by the age of 70.

Skin cancers have much better outcomes if diagnosed and managed early. Treatment of pre-cancerous areas of skin can prevent the formation of skin cancer. Our experienced GPSIs (General Practitioners with a Special Interest) in skin cancer medicine offer general skin checks. They are happy to see unreferred patients. However, they aim to work with the patient’s usual or referring GP, in accordance with that doctor’s own interest and practice set-up, to ensure the best skin cancer surveillance for that individual. They utilise dermoscopy and digital photography. They are able to triage patients to Dr Stanford promptly when more specialised interventions are appropriate.

To book a skin check, please call the practice on (02) 4232 2011.
Please note: Dr. Stanford does not perform routine skin checks.
