Skin cancers
South Coast Dermatology provides a comprehensive service in both the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer.
Mohs surgery
Mohs is used to better manage recurrent or incompletely removed skin cancers or those untreated skin cancers that have a high risk of recurrence or incomplete removal.
Skin checks
Our experienced GPSIs (General Practitioners with a Special Interest) in skin cancer medicine offer general skin checks.
Medical dermatology
There is a limited service to manage medical (non-procedural) dermatology conditions via our supervised Registrar clinic operating 2 days a fortnight.
Laser and intense pulsed light (IPL)
Our registered laser nurse uses the Sciton BBL intense pulsed light machine to treat a range of conditions including rosacea, erythema (redness) & telangiectasia (“broken capillaries”) and pigmentation.

Our Practice
South Coast Dermatology was founded in Kiama in 2002 by Dr Duncan Stanford, a specialist dermatologist. Duncan has sub-specialty training in advanced cutaneous surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery which has allowed him to provide high level care for skin cancers for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven communities and beyond. He now leads a clinical team of General Practitioners with a Special Interest (GPSIs) in dermatology and skin cancer medicine, as well as Dermatology Nurses, who allow the practice to provide comprehensive and timely care.
